SEEDS FOR MY FAMILY
Here we have included the instructions for MOST of the seeds provided in your packs. You may have a few different seeds that are not standard and will need due diligence or experimentation of growth in zone 6b.
TOMATOES
Tomatoes are warm-season plants that prefer temperatures above 50°F (10°C) to thrive. It's recommended to start tomato seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost date or purchase starter plants to transplant outdoors after the last frost. Tomatoes require full sun, well-draining soil, regular watering, and support as they grow. Prune them to promote good air circulation and remove any diseased foliage. Be prepared to protect them from late spring frosts and provide adequate support for their vines as they grow and produce fruit.
PEPPERS
Peppers generally require warm temperatures to thrive and typically take 60-90 days to reach maturity. It is recommended to start pepper seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost date to give them a head start. Peppers do well when planted in well-draining soil with plenty of sunlight. Some popular varieties to consider for zone 6b include sweet bell peppers, hot peppers like jalapeños or habaneros, and sweet banana peppers. Make sure to provide adequate water and nutrients throughout the growing season to promote healthy pepper plants.
